Amaqaqa Prepare Special End of Year Show for Fans

Fans of Imbube group Amaqaqa will enjoy a festive celebration as the ensemble hosts a dedicated end of year show on December 21 at the Bulawayo Theatre. The event is titled Amaqaqa End of the Year Show and aims to honour supporters who stood by the group throughout 2025. The line up includes Udonsi LwabaPostoli and Maskandi musician UGagisa. The group wants to close the year with a performance that reflects their growth. They also want to recognise the people who helped them reach new stages. The show is designed to bring fans together through a strong acappella experience.
Amaqaqa spokesperson Mohau Ncube said the group wanted to give back to supporters who kept them going. He said their followers played a major role in every milestone reached this year. He noted that Amaqaqa believe in their ability to captivate audiences through their sound. He added that hosting a fan centred event felt important as the year ends. The group views this show as a sign of gratitude. They also see it as a chance to strengthen the bond with their listeners.
Ncube confirmed that the set list will feature well known songs and new material. Tracks include Lamlela Ndwandwe, Maxikixiki, Umculo Wesicathamiya and Insakavukela. Others are Emkulwini, Induku Emakhandakhanda, Ngilimele, Icala Kaliboli and Jesu Khristu Dwala Lami. They will also perform Lizimithisa Mahala, Inqola Yomlilo, Amanamnede and Inganono. Supporters of Highlanders FC can expect Jukwa Lakhwelimota. Ncube said the mix aims to give fans a full and enjoyable experience.
He explained that the group focused on curating a playlist that connects with the public. He said the songs chosen have a strong response when performed live. He added that new tracks will be introduced to offer fresh energy. The group believes this balance will enhance the event. They want every supporter to enjoy the range of material. They hope the show leaves a lasting impression.
Amaqaqa had a strong year marked by several key performances. They held their first stand alone show on May 31 at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. They also performed at the Bulawayo Arts Festival with other top Imbube groups. In August they recorded their fourth album titled Insakavukela Umchilo Wesidwaba. The album launched in September at the Hope Centre. They later performed it for South African fans at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg.
The group received further recognition through a Bulawayo Arts Awards nomination. They are nominated for Outstanding Imbube or Acappella Group. They share the category with Great Stars, Ijongosi and Amaculo Enjabulo. Ncube said the nomination motivates them to work harder. He said it confirms that people notice their progress. He added that the recognition strengthens their commitment to excellence.
