Bhila Celebrates Overwhelming Response to His Hit Song Wamuhle

Bulawayo-based musician Bhila is elated by the warm reception his latest song, Wamuhle, has received from music lovers. The track has captivated audiences with its soulful melody and meaningful lyrics, cementing Bhila’s reputation as a gifted storyteller.
Born Patriach Welcom Joel Manyabi, the 30-year-old artist describes himself as a storyteller who seeks to uplift people through music.
“I am a lover of stories, and thus I am a storyteller. My gift and mandate is to give people good music that uplifts their spirits. I am all about positivity,” Bhila told NewsDay Life & Style.
The musician revealed that he had anticipated Wamuhle’s success from the moment he started working on it in August last year.
“I am happy about the reception. It was very good, and I expected it the day I started recording the song,” he said.
Before its official release, Bhila conducted listening sessions at Lupane State University and Bulawayo Polytechnic in December, where the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Despite having a limited marketing budget, he was confident that the song would resonate with many listeners.
Inspired by a beautiful young woman, Wamuhle is a celebration of love, written from a place of pure joy.
“The song is all about love. I wrote it with a big smile on my face, and I think that energy is reflected in the music,” Bhila said.
The singer emphasized that his goal was to cultivate a culture of love and self-appreciation.
“The message is simple: embrace beauty, celebrate love, and appreciate yourself. I believe people got the message,” he added.
Bhila first made his mark in the industry with his 2023 album Iphephandaba, which earned him a nomination for Outstanding Newcomer at the 2023 Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards. Unfortunately, due to administrative challenges, his music was taken down from digital platforms.
Despite the setbacks, he remains grateful for the unwavering support from his fans.
“I’m humbled by the support, and I continue to put my heart into my music,” he said.
Acknowledging the financial challenges of music production, Bhila remains optimistic about securing resources to sustain his craft and bring more uplifting music to his audience. With Wamuhle already making waves, the rising star is well on his way to greater success in Zimbabwe’s music industry.
