Cal Vin’s killer driver finally nabbed
A recent tweet by the ZRP has confirmed the arrest of the hit and run driver who ran over and killed Bulawayo rapper Cal Vin. The driver is reported to have handed himself over to the police. ZRP tweeted,”On 28/10/20 Police in Bulawayo arrested one suspect in connection with the fatal hit and run accident which led to the death of musician Calvin Nhliziyo. The suspect handed himself over to the police on 28/10/20.Details of the offender have not been released. We will update this article if new details emerge”.
Cal Vin was run over by a white Mazda Familia Car which had no plate in the wee hours of Sunday morning. The driver of the car fled the scene and the rapper was pronounced dead on arrival at UBH Hospital. There was outrage on social media as fans of the rapper launched a manhunt for the hit and run driver. This must have prompted him to turn himself in.
Cal Vin was an award winning rapper who rose through the ranks to establish himself as one of the best to emerge from the country. He toured several countries and regurlaly took part in the Zim Hip hop Summit which is held annually. His impressive skills will be sorely missed. Cal Vin has indeed left a gap in the music industry that will be difficult to fill.
The music industry has once again been robbed of a talented artist. Some of the young people in arts that passed away in 2020 include jazz musician Prince and Scara who was a drummer. The death of Cal Vin has left most fans heartbroken. People are eagerly awaiting to see the hit and run driver being brought to book.
