CeCe Winans Set to Light Up Harare in Highly Anticipated “More Than This Tour”

Multi-award-winning American gospel icon CeCe Winans is bringing her soul-stirring vocals to Zimbabwe for the very first time. The celebrated singer is scheduled to perform live in Harare on August 26 at the Celebration Centre as part of her global More Than This Tour, a concert experience expected to be both powerful and spiritually uplifting.

Organised by GEC Events Company, the show marks a major moment in Zimbabwe’s gospel music calendar. GEC Events director Lyncolin Kapswara confirmed the event and emphasised that Winans’ presence in Harare is a significant milestone for local gospel fans, many of whom have followed her career for decades.

“CeCe Winans is coming to Zimbabwe for a performance at the Celebration Centre in Harare on August 26. As usual, GEC Events shall put a strong lineup of local gospel music supporting acts,” said Kapswara. “We are confident that her visit will leave a lasting impact and inspire many through her music and ministry.”

Known for her commanding voice and deeply emotional delivery, Winans’ music beautifully blends traditional gospel, contemporary Christian melodies, and soulful rhythms. With lyrics centred on faith, healing, and love, her songs have long resonated with global audiences. From timeless classics like Alabaster Box and Purified to her latest hit That’s My King from the 2024 album More Than This, Winans continues to redefine worship music for each new generation.

Her performance in Harare promises to be more than just a musical evening—it will be a spiritual encounter. Local gospel artists will open the show, creating a dynamic atmosphere that celebrates Zimbabwe’s own rich gospel heritage alongside the international artistry of Winans.

Over the years, CeCe Winans has built one of the most decorated careers in gospel music history. She is the most awarded female gospel artist of all time, boasting an impressive 17 Grammy Awards, 31 Dove Awards, and 16 Stellar Awards. She has also been honoured with inductions into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the Nashville Music City Walk of Fame. Her first live album, Believe for It, became a massive success, surpassing a billion streams and making waves across Christian music charts worldwide.

In addition to her music, Winans and her husband Alvin Love are founders of Nashville Life Church in Tennessee, further extending her ministry beyond the stage. Her influence is not only musical but spiritual and cultural—a legacy that continues to grow.

Tickets for the Harare leg of the More Than This Tour are now available, priced between US$20 and US$100, and can be purchased at Booties Pharmacies and through GEC Events’ online platforms.

As the countdown to August 26 begins, Zimbabwe prepares to welcome a living gospel legend. With her heavenly voice and unmatched stage presence, CeCe Winans’ performance will undoubtedly be more than a concert—it will be a night of worship, unity, and divine connection.
