Audiences will have multiple opportunities to experience the production, with Friday’s showing running from 2pm to 5pm and Saturday offering two sessions from 2pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8pm.

In an interview with NewsDay, Rwodzi shared that the play was inspired by everyday encounters and the way strangers can unknowingly mirror our deepest truths. “It explores identity, hidden trauma, love, faith, and the courage it takes to confront uncomfortable truths,” she said.

Rwodzi described the cast and crew as highly committed, noting that collaboration and trust make this production unique. “Everyone brings their whole self to the work,” she added, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in delivering the story’s emotional impact.

The choice of Harare International School as the venue was intentional. Rwodzi explained that the intimate setting allows audiences to feel close to the emotions on stage, enhancing the immersive theatrical experience.

The play has received critical recognition for its thought-provoking and emotionally charged narrative. Rwodzi hopes audiences leave reflecting on their own lives, fostering healing and empathy. “I hope audiences leave questioning, healing, and maybe seeing others with more compassion,” she said.

Performing live offers Rwodzi a unique creative experience. She highlighted theatre’s immediacy and the powerful energy exchange with the audience. Behind the scenes, challenges included managing time and the emotional weight of the story, which the team overcame through discipline, honest conversations, and trusting the creative process.

The title Strangers and Revelations reflects the central theme of the play: how encounters with strangers can trigger hidden truths within us. Rwodzi plays a layered, emotionally complex character, describing it as one of her most demanding roles yet.

The production contributes to Zimbabwe’s growing theatre scene by offering bold, contemporary, and unapologetically local storytelling. Rwodzi encourages fans and supporters to experience the play, promising a journey that may reveal something personal for each viewer.

Strangers and Revelations marks a compelling return for Rwodzi to live theatre, reinforcing her reputation as a fearless storyteller committed to exploring the depth and complexity of human experience.
