Cynthia Mare Opens Up About Surviving Abuse

Songstress, Cynthia Mare surfaced from a troubled childhood, where she suffered enormous abuse, to become a successful musician and a qualified nurse in a long journey of courage that inspired her song titled ‘Moto Ngaubvire’. Cynthia Mare Opens Up About Surviving Abuse.

Mare reportedly said  that her early childhood made her feel unworthy and she appreciated that there were more women going through similar abuse.

She said, the song  ‘Moto Ngaubvire’ was inspired partly by that, growing up, life was not always smooth. Luckily for her, she had a supportive family that made her see that she was worthy.

”I want girls out there to know and appreciate that nothing comes without a fight and hard work, so in some way, honestly, I would say that I am inspired by the song as well,” she added.

Mare said she released the song with the aid of the British Council, with the aim of empowering young girls, who faced a lot of negativity and had to deal with challenges such as rape and early marriages.
