Gospel Stars Michael Mahendere and Dumi Mkokstad Show Support for Rising Talent Sipho Snowy at Sizonkwonza Concert
The recently held Sizonkwonza Concert at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Hall in Bulawayo turned into a momentous occasion for rising gospel star Sipho Snowy, as two established gospel icons, Michael Mahendere and Dumi Mkokstad, publicly pledged their support for his burgeoning music career.

I was amazed by his gift and I started talking to him from then on,” Mkokstad shared. The South African gospel legend, known for his powerful voice and success in the gospel scene, expressed a desire to help Snowy break into the South African market. “I want to open doors for him, if possible, by the grace of God— in South Africa. Who knows, he might also become prominent there, and that’s my wish,” Mkokstad added, signifying a new chapter in Snowy’s musical journey.
In addition to Mkokstad’s offer of support, Michael Mahendere, a household name in Zimbabwean gospel music, also showed his appreciation for Snowy’s dedication to the ministry. Reflecting on the challenges of the music industry, Mahendere offered valuable advice to the young artist, recounting their conversation before the concert. “He asked me why I hadn’t told him that it’s not an easy road. I said, ‘You have to go through it, and you graduate from there,’” Mahendere said, highlighting the resilience required to thrive in the music industry.

Snowy is set to perform for the first time in the UK on May 31 at the Grateful Experience Concert, organized by Eleana Makombe.
