Jah Prayzah Set for Emotional Return to Bulawayo at Harris Music Festival

Zimbabwean music sensation Jah Prayzah is set to make a highly anticipated return to Bulawayo, headlining the Harris Music Festival on 31 January at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZIEC) Hall 3. The Military Touch Movement leader last performed in the city in June 2023 during the launch of his Chiremerera album. This comeback marks two years and six months since his last live show in Bulawayo, making it a long-awaited event for his loyal fans. The performance is expected to serve as a compensatory gig for followers who have gone without a live experience from Wagwizi for far too long.

Wagwizi will deliver a full concert experience, performing several tracks from his latest 14th studio album, Ndini Mukudzeyi. Fans can expect to hear hits such as Ruzhowa, Ibvo, Mibvundzo, Chiramu, and Hubaba, alongside classics from his extensive catalogue. The setlist is designed to provide a blend of nostalgia and fresh music, ensuring both long-time supporters and new listeners enjoy the show. This concert promises to showcase Jah Prayzah’s signature energy and his ability to connect deeply with his audience.

Jah Prayzah’s manager, Keen Mushapaidze, described the return as emotional, emphasizing the strong bond between the artist and his Bulawayo fans. “Last year we did the Ndini Mukudzeyi International Tour, taking the album to countries including Canada, China, the United Kingdom, and North America. We also did a local tour, but we didn’t have enough time to bring the album to Bulawayo,” Mushapaidze explained. He added that the January performance would give fans the full album experience, along with some of Jah Prayzah’s most beloved classics. The manager also noted that the show will allow Wagwizi to reconnect with supporters whose loyalty has been crucial to his career.

Bulawayo holds a special place in Jah Prayzah’s career, reinforced by his collaborations with local creatives. Among his team are producer Vusa “Stot” Sitotombe and dancer and backing vocalist Stimy Stimela, who spent part of her life in Mzilikazi. Over the years, Jah Prayzah has also worked with groups and individuals from the city, including the music ensemble Iyasa and model Ben Chest. These connections have strengthened his relationship with Bulawayo and contributed to the emotional weight of his return. Fans can expect to see this bond reflected in the energy and passion of his performance.

Event organiser Jordan Dube said bringing Jah Prayzah back to Bulawayo sets a high standard for music shows in 2026. “This is his first show for the year, and his strong fan base in the city guarantees an epic performance. Many have been longing to see Wagwizi on stage, and now they will,” Dube said. He added that the festival is part of a plan to bring more high-calibre shows to Bulawayo throughout the year. The organisers aim to start the year on a high note, giving music lovers an unforgettable experience.

The Harris Music Festival will also feature performances by South African Amapiano artist Leehleza, Zimbabwean Dancehall star Seh Calaz, Msiz’Kay, and DJs Nospa, Umlungu Omnyama, Fydale the Don, Stout, Mufali, Zulu Dietem, and Feel G. The combination of local and international talent ensures a diverse and energetic lineup. Fans attending can look forward to a festival atmosphere that complements Jah Prayzah’s headline set. The event promises to be a landmark moment for the city’s music scene in 2026.

This show represents a highly anticipated return for one of Zimbabwe’s most celebrated artists. It will offer both nostalgia and the latest hits from Ndini Mukudzeyi, giving fans a complete live experience. The performance will also highlight the strong cultural ties between Jah Prayzah and Bulawayo. Attendees can expect an emotional, high-energy concert that celebrates his legacy while delivering fresh musical moments. For fans in the City of Kings, this is a chance to reconnect with Wagwizi on stage after more than two years away.
