Lyshanda Moyas Returns Home After Miss Universe 2025 Journey

Beauty queen Lyshanda Moyas has returned to Zimbabwe after representing the country at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand, carrying pride, accomplishment and a renewed sense of direction in her modelling career. The 26-year-old described her participation on one of the world’s most prestigious stages as both a career milestone and a personal awakening that strengthened her confidence and broadened her ambitions.

Fresh from Thailand, Lyshanda received a warm welcome from supporters, family and industry professionals who closely followed her journey. She finished in the top 30 at Miss Universe and expressed pride in representing Zimbabwe, while acknowledging the overwhelming support she received from back home.

“Miss Universe was more than just a competition,” she said. “It was a learning curve, a chance to grow and a chance to see the world through a different lens. I gave it my best, and I’m grateful that the world saw me, heard me and embraced me.”

During her time in Thailand, Lyshanda faced intense global scrutiny but handled every moment with poise. From rehearsals to interviews and high-pressure preliminaries, she impressed fans and fellow contestants with her consistency and calm presence. Observers noted her polished runway execution and authentic personality, with one fan remarking that she “looks like a Victoria’s Secret model.”

Lyshanda highlighted the support she received from international fans, describing it as humbling. “People from different countries cheering you on, stopping you for photos, telling you that you’re inspiring them; that’s something I’ll never forget,” she said.

The pageant experience was demanding, with early mornings, strenuous choreography and continuous engagements. Lyshanda said these challenges sharpened her discipline and highlighted the commitment required at an international level. “Every moment was a lesson. I met incredible women from around the world, all driven, all passionate, all with different stories. Sharing space with them pushed me to grow,” she explained.

Back in Zimbabwe, Lyshanda is taking time to reset before her next steps. She is focusing on reconnecting with her roots and planning her next chapter intentionally. While she has not outlined any immediate plans to compete in another pageant, she is turning her focus to commercial fashion modelling, a sector she believes aligns with her strengths and long-term goals.

“Commercial fashion is powerful because it connects brands to people,” she said. “It allows creativity, emotion and identity to come together. I’m excited to explore that world more and refine myself as a model who can deliver beyond the runway.”

Industry insiders view her shift to commercial fashion as a natural progression, given her expressive features, camera confidence and adaptability. Several regional creatives have already shown interest in collaborating with her on this new phase of her career.

Lyshanda is also using this period to rest, reconnect with family, and reflect on a journey that elevated her both personally and professionally. She emphasized the importance of Zimbabwean support in sustaining her spirit throughout the competition.

“I felt the love from home every single day. That support carried me, it strengthened me, it reminded me who I was representing,” she said.

Looking ahead, Lyshanda hopes her journey inspires young Zimbabwean girls to pursue modelling and international opportunities. “This was not an ending. It was a powerful beginning,” she said, encouraging others to dream boldly and pursue their ambitions.
