Sharon Manyonganise Cherayi Collaborates with Rojer Owusu on Take the Glory

Sharon Manyonganise Cherayi, celebrated gospel singer, worship leader, and pastor, has embarked on a groundbreaking collaboration that is set to elevate her global presence once more.

The collaboration features Australia-based Ghanaian pastor Rojer Owusu on the song and video Take the Glory, released on multiple social media platforms on October 1.

The visuals, produced by Authentic Media in Zimbabwe, are carefully crafted to reflect both artistry and spiritual depth. Wide shots of natural landscapes convey the majesty of God, while intimate candle-lit sequences highlight personal devotion. Each frame is designed to communicate worship and reverence.

Owusu revealed that the song stems from his personal experience of gratitude and devotion. He hopes listeners will be inspired to worship God wholeheartedly and acknowledge Him as the ultimate source of blessings, regardless of their circumstances.

“I felt an overwhelming need to emphasise God’s glory and sovereignty in my life,” Owusu said. “Reflecting on His faithfulness throughout the years, how He has saved me and provided for me, reminded me that this applies to every listener of this song. God has been good in so many ways, and all we can do is come to Him in worship.”

Owusu explained that the song’s central message mirrors his personal commitment to remain present in God’s presence. “Just as the song declares, ‘Lord, I am here,’ it reflects my willingness to be present, to pause and acknowledge Him amid life’s chaos,” he said.

The collaboration with Cherayi came naturally. Owusu has followed her music since her time with Zimpraise, particularly on the song Sungano. “I felt led by the spirit to feature someone special. Sharon was the perfect person for the song. Despite being heavily pregnant, she completed her session, and one can truly testify to the presence of God in her work,” Owusu said.

Take the Glory draws inspiration from 1 Thessalonians 5:18, which encourages believers to express gratitude in every situation. Owusu also connects it to the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32), highlighting God’s readiness to receive and restore those who return to Him.

Cherayi’s contribution goes beyond singing; she ministers through her music. Known for her time with Zimpraise and songs like Sungano (remix), she has built a reputation in the Zimbabwean gospel scene as both a worshipper and a worship architect. Her previous projects, including the album Rudo RwaJesu, hits like Hallelujah and Rugare, and live DVDs such as God the Lifter of Men with her husband Ellard, demonstrate her ability to create spiritually immersive experiences.

Take the Glory positions both Cherayi and Owusu as vessels of worship that transcend performance. Through powerful vocals, intentional visuals, and a message rooted in gratitude and devotion, the song reinforces the importance of acknowledging God’s presence and sovereignty in every aspect of life.

This collaboration signals a significant milestone for Cherayi, reinforcing her role as a global worship leader while providing audiences worldwide with an opportunity to experience worship that is both visually stunning and spiritually profound.
