Sungura Musician Peter Moyo Faces Legal Trouble After Alleged Assault Caught on Camera

Sungura musician Peter Dewa Moyo could find himself in legal trouble after being caught on camera seemingly assaulting an unidentified woman. The video, which has been widely shared on social media, shows Moyo grappling with the woman and throwing punches as onlookers watch.

It remains unclear when or where the violent altercation took place. However, the incident has sparked outrage, with many condemning the musician’s actions. In the footage, a male voice can be heard expressing concern over the escalating confrontation, saying, “If you leave them to it, someone will soon be killed!”

Moyo has yet to comment on the matter, and there has been no official statement from law enforcement regarding potential legal action.

Meanwhile, the musician’s wife, Caroline Makamache, took to social media to share cryptic messages that some believe reference the incident. One post read, “I got upset with my husband more often. I’d get a lot of work done around the house. 🙋‍♀️💅,” suggesting a dismissive attitude toward the altercation. In another post, she distanced herself from the situation, stating, “Zvekubhawa nemahure ndombozviteedzera here. Ndinenge ndirikumba ini…” (loosely translated as “Do I have to keep track of bar fights with prostitutes? I’m at home.”)

On social media, a user claiming to have inside knowledge of the incident alleged that the unidentified woman had instigated the fight. “It’s the girl who started the fight…haanganzi akarova mukadzi maya, the girl ndiye aitoda zvezvibhakera he eventually had to restrain her,” the X user wrote, suggesting that Moyo was acting in self-defense.

The viral video has ignited a heated debate, with some defending the musician while others demand accountability. As pressure mounts, all eyes remain on Moyo to address the allegations and clarify the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
