The Journey highlights Warren Deep’s unique approach to Afro-house, blending rhythmic tribal elements with contemporary electronic sounds. His style, which he describes as “abstract electronic Afro-house music,” reflects a commitment to pushing creative boundaries while staying connected to his cultural roots. The album represents his evolution as both an individual and an artist, capturing eight years of growth, experimentation, and dedication to music production.
Warren Deep’s journey into music began in 2013 when he was introduced to production by a friend, Stone Moyo. Growing up in a household with diverse musical influences, he initially explored electro-house before gravitating toward Afro and tribal house, genres that now define his signature sound. “The Journey is a reflection of my growth as both an individual and an artiste. It represents my relentless pursuit of development and my passion to create a distinctive sound,” he explained.
The 10-track album demonstrates his international reach, featuring collaborations with artists from Zimbabwe, Germany, Poland, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Italy. Working with names like Swizzy Anderson, Apollo Soule, Giorgio Basse, Böyd, Moses, Afro Wav, Takue SBT, and Quireboi allowed him to merge different musical styles into a cohesive project. Each track reflects his vision to create music that resonates globally while maintaining authentic Afro-house roots.
With The Journey, Warren Deep positions himself as one of the emerging forces in the Afro-house genre, combining tribal rhythms, electronic textures, and international influences. The album promises to elevate his profile, offering listeners a sophisticated and innovative musical experience. As fans anticipate its release on February 20, The Journey is set to establish Warren Deep as a leading voice in the global electronic Afro-house scene.
