Zimbabwe’s Festive Season Set to Light Up with Baba Harare and Mary Anibal at the Big Show

Zimbabwe’s festive season will spark to life on December 6 when Baba Harare and Mary Anibal take over the stage at the Big Show at Belgravia Sports Club. The event carries fresh energy, global influence and strong star power.

Baba Harare returns home after a successful show with Gemma Griffiths at Birmingham’s King of Clubs. He looks recharged and driven. He told fans on Facebook that he is more than prepared for the Big Show before he performs at the Run 4 Nights event in Mt Pleasant the next day. His supporters expect a night filled with high intensity Jiti music and a confident stage presence.

Mary Anibal arrives with her own momentum. She recently delivered a standout performance of her hit Bhonzo Muderere at Le Rocher de Palmer in Bordeaux, France. International crowds applauded her skill with the mbira, her strong voice and her direct storytelling style. Her global reputation continues to grow as she takes her Afro fusion sound to new markets.

The line up for the Big Show includes Freeman, Nisha Ts, Nutty O and Saintfloew. This group offers strong appeal to families and young fans. The event promises a memorable close to the country’s entertainment year.

Anibal’s influence continues to strengthen. She is an award winning singer, songwriter and mbira specialist. Her work sits at the center of modern Afro fusion. She uses her platform to lift women’s voices while honoring traditional sound. Her debut album Maria Wenyu in 2024 showed her range and control. Her 2025 hit Bhonzo told stories of hustle and the everyday push for progress. International crowds in Canada, Zanzibar, Côte d’Ivoire, Germany and Switzerland have praised her ability to hold an audience.

Baba Harare, born Braveman Chizvino, remains a key figure in Jiti music. His hit The Reason Why raised his profile. Tracks like Guzuzu strengthened his reach. After a period in gospel where he rebranded as King David and released My Testimony in 2024 and Revived & Restored in 2025, he now returns to the Jiti sound that made him a national favorite. This return signals renewed focus and a desire to deliver the energetic shows his fans expect.

The Big Show brings two powerful acts to one stage and offers a strong mix of local identity and global influence. It sets the tone for a vibrant festive season and gives fans a chance to celebrate Zimbabwean music at its strongest.
