Dancer Tanaka Joe Sakala (Glitch) Secures Major Collaboration with Michael Jackson’s Ex-Choreographer

Renowned Zimbabwean dancer Tanaka Joe Sakala, popularly known as Glitch, is celebrating an exciting career milestone as he prepares for a major collaboration in Cuba next year. Glitch, who captured the spotlight earlier this year by winning a gold medal in contemporary dance at the prestigious Havana competition, is now set to work alongside Vincent Paterson, the legendary choreographer behind iconic Michael Jackson routines.

Speaking about the collaboration, Glitch expressed a mix of emotions: “I am no stranger to the scene, but I am really nervous about this. It will turn out well, and I will be okay. I must just keep reminding myself that this guy once worked with Michael Jackson.”

Paterson’s illustrious career includes choreographing legendary moves for Thriller and Smooth Criminal, making this partnership a dream come true for the Zimbabwean dancer. “To be sharing the same space with him is blissfulness. What more can I ask for?” Glitch added.

The young dancer shared that the opportunity feels surreal. “I never imagined this happening to me. I am nervous and excited at the same time. There is a rush of adrenaline in me. Words cannot express the feeling I have deep inside.”

As preparations continue, Glitch remains focused on making the most of this unique opportunity. This collaboration promises to further elevate his career and solidify his position as one of Zimbabwe’s finest dance talents.

With the support of the local and international dance community, Glitch is undoubtedly set to make waves in the global dance arena. His story serves as an inspiration to aspiring dancers across Zimbabwe and beyond, showcasing the potential of talent combined with perseverance.
