They also won the People’s Choice Award, adding USD $7 300 to their haul, making them the night’s biggest winners.

Second place was claimed by Mariegold, known for her emotive and powerful vocals. She received USD $9 000 and a trip to China. Prince Avolon secured third place, earning USD $8 500 and the same international opportunity. All three winners will participate in a cultural exchange in China, a program that has opened global doors for past DreamStar participants.

The finale featured live performances from top Zimbabwean artists, including Killer T, Nisha Ts, Delroy Shewe, Atenda Chingz, and Nyasha David. The theatre buzzed with excitement as fans cheered, sang, and danced along, making the evening a memorable musical spectacle.

Mr Walter Chanaka of Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation emphasised the show’s purpose. He explained that DreamStar encourages youth to view their talent as both passion and purpose, offering real opportunities for growth and professional development.

China Railway No.09, a long-term supporter, highlighted the cultural and educational benefits of sponsoring the event. “This project doesn’t just help young people chase their artistic dreams, it also gives them opportunities for further education and career growth,” a spokesperson said. “Through these exchanges, people from both countries understand each other better, strengthening the foundation of friendship.”

Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Zhou Ding, praised the show as a celebration of youth and talent. He noted that past winners have become global cultural ambassadors, showcasing Zimbabwean artistry on international stages.

This edition of DreamStar stood out not only for its prize money and entertainment value but also for the collective focus on youth potential. The stage became a launch pad for talent, transforming performances into pathways and passion into careers.

With electrifying dance routines and breathtaking live vocals, the 9th Edition showcased dreams in motion. As DreamStar approaches its 10th anniversary, it continues to offer opportunity, inspiration, and a platform for Zimbabwean creativity to flourish.
