Q: Who is El Deeper?

A: Is a Christian first and a rapper second do not mix the two fashion designer my clothing line Mashlasy (ML) growing slowly but sure some call me mrgoodthang some fashion bishop but eldeeper is the brand name Zim born Chitungwiza is my home but based in SA

Q: When did you start making music?

A: 2009 that’s wen I recorded my first single when I was doing my A’ level at Churchill boys high 2010 was the first visual art president guess what they made me a prefect lol

Q: What was your childhood dream career?

A: Fashion designer my passion for it began i believe when i was still a toddler

Q:  Are you signed to any record label or you’re an independent artist?

A: I’m partly independent but in duo contracts with Christhood records Zim ,MasterMinds Zim/SA and L2M records South Africa

Q: Do you see any progression in the Zim Hip Hop and how do we rate to the rest of the continent?

A: Its still crawling i can see it running soon the rappers are good 8/10 but they need to work on their image because your face is your money don’t bleach though lol

Q: Why do you think we most of our music is not reaching beyond boarders?

A: It really needs back up from the local people on my own point of view the support we receiving as artist its not enough as compared to other African nations like Ghana ,Nigeria ,South Africa people is their back up secondly lack of funding,promotion,exposure on big tv stations like Trace,Mtv,Channel O its really pullin Zim music down

Q: You’re a two time ZHHA nominee, is that some kind of validation that you’re on the right track?

A: Before the ZHHA nomination 2012 Christhood music single Lights’ played back to back with Lecrae ‘I know’ (Grammy,Bet Award winner) on Hype radio no.1 syndicated Christian Hip-hop radio station in USA and couple interviews with One Africa Radio South Africa,on baseline show with Brad the same very year a Shout out from Jin the Mc former Ruffrider artist used to watch him on TV man fast and furious movie the 1st he played a role as a mechanic BET’106 &Park’ Freestyle Fridays Champion.That’s the season ‘Get up’ my other single was number 2 on end of year power FM gospel charts so the nominations was not that big it just spiced up the hustle

Q: Who have you worked with in the industry?

A: Flem B he featured on ‘ Joy/mufaro’ recieved high rotation on both local and international radio tv stations really loved in Nigeria.Llyod Tevedzai of Zim Praise ,Victor dee,Joshmat Brythreesixty ,Scorpel Rollz

Q: Who is your dream collaboration?

A: Michael W Smith, The Soil together with Mali music on the same track with me thats Godly

Q: What are you currently working on?

A: I have a video coming out mid july together with Masterminds i just mentioned it before its a contract item the song have Mike Kata,Bwoi Lo ,Slick thuga and Me song called Mali yami

Q: Where do you draw inspiration from?

A: Day to day life and fashion every time i dress up i feel fire in my bones

Q: From an artist point of view, how do you feel about the move from digitization to digitalization?

A: The truth is everything have a an advantage and a disadvantage its less expensive for unsigned artist to push their music online because less is needed no CD packaging and staff people will get to know you get bookings and your money back ,However no record sales its sad though because its the bigger part of a musician every album must have a record how many units sold and this must be hard copies so digitilisation killing the vibe a bit

Q: What else can we look forward to before the end of the year?

Couple of surprise collaboration songs with American artist name tba Zim Uk based artist names tba, Christhood also doing a single as a cliq ,SA hiphop artists names tba and Masterminds EP

Zimbabwean youth? Do what makes you Happy and Go for Christ Go for Life (G4C G4L) he will lead you to the road of success
