Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2026 Final Stage Begins as Top 18 Contestants Enter Intensive Boot Camp in Harare

The race for the Miss Universe Zimbabwe crown has reached its decisive stage, with the top 18 finalists now in boot camp in Harare ahead of the grand finale scheduled for this Saturday. The competition has drawn national attention as it moves into its final phase, where preparation, discipline and performance will determine the next queens of Zimbabwe. This year’s edition is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent memory due to the depth of talent among the finalists. Many of the contestants already carry experience from international platforms, raising the overall standard of the competition. The boot camp phase is designed to refine their skills and prepare them for both the national finale and global representation.
The Miss Universe Zimbabwe organisation has introduced a significant change this year by planning to crown five queens instead of one, each representing the country on major international stages. These titles include Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Miss World Zimbabwe, Miss International Zimbabwe, Miss Supranational Zimbabwe and Miss Cosmo Zimbabwe. The expanded structure has increased competition among finalists, as each contestant now has multiple pathways to international representation. This shift reflects a broader strategy to position Zimbabwe more strongly in global pageantry circuits. It also places greater responsibility on contestants to demonstrate versatility, confidence and adaptability throughout the boot camp process.
The top 18 finalists competing for these titles are Nomaqhikiza Mokoni, Charmaine Mabvundwe, Ruvimbo Njomboro, Roseanna Hall, Kudzaishe Mwamuka, Mona-Lisa Dube, Jemima Mandemwa, Brunette Makanyiso, Virginia Nyambe, Nicole Nyawera, Sindiso Ndlovu, Paris Huni, Malaika Mushandu, Kuzivakwashe Mujakachi, Shelly Bent, Tatenda Madzinga, Adelle Chinamasa and Cheryl Shambadzai. Each contestant brings a unique background and set of strengths into the competition, ranging from modelling experience to public speaking and advocacy work. The diversity among the finalists has contributed to heightened public interest and anticipation ahead of the final event. Organisers have noted that the selection process was highly competitive, with many strong candidates narrowly missing out on the top 18. The current group now carries the responsibility of representing the best of Zimbabwean pageantry talent.
Pageant chairperson Danya Kabwebwe confirmed that preparations for the finale are well underway, with contestants fully engaged in structured training sessions. He noted that the finalists have already completed official photoshoots as part of their final presentation requirements. According to Kabwebwe, the boot camp is designed to push contestants beyond physical appearance and focus on overall personal development. The training programme includes runway coaching, public speaking, fitness conditioning, media training, etiquette and brand representation. These sessions aim to prepare the contestants not only for the national stage but also for international competitions where standards are significantly higher.
Kabwebwe emphasised that the organisation is focused on producing queens who can serve as global ambassadors for Zimbabwe. He highlighted that modern pageantry requires more than beauty, placing strong emphasis on communication skills, cultural awareness and professional conduct. The finalists are expected to represent Zimbabwe’s identity and values on international platforms with confidence and credibility. This approach aligns with the evolving nature of global pageants, where contestants are evaluated on leadership, advocacy and social impact. The boot camp environment is therefore structured to test resilience, discipline and adaptability under pressure.
Adding further prestige to this year’s edition, Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi is set to host the grand finale. Her involvement has elevated the profile of the competition and brought increased international attention to Zimbabwe’s pageant scene. Tunzi’s global recognition and experience are expected to inspire contestants as they prepare for the final stage of the competition. Organisers believe her presence reinforces the event’s credibility and highlights Zimbabwe’s growing presence in international pageantry. As the final countdown begins, attention now turns to which of the 18 finalists will rise to claim the crowns and represent the country on the world stage.
