Newly crowned Miss Nust 2026, Moreblessing Lelani Ndlovu, has described her victory as a life-changing achievement that represents far more than beauty and glamour. The 22-year-old from Mahatshula in Bulawayo was crowned during a glamorous Mr and Miss Nust 2026 pageant held at the National University of Science and Technology campus on Saturday night. Her triumph has already attracted attention from students, community leaders and supporters who see her as a strong voice for youth development and social impact. For Ndlovu, the crown symbolises resilience, growth and the courage to pursue dreams despite fear and uncertainty. Her journey to becoming Miss Nust reflects determination, discipline and a clear sense of purpose that extends beyond the stage.

Speaking after her victory, Ndlovu said she felt overwhelmed with gratitude, joy and responsibility after being announced as the winner. She explained that the title means much more to her than wearing a crown or gaining public recognition. Instead, she sees it as an opportunity to inspire others while advocating for important causes that affect young people and communities. Throughout the competition, she focused on presenting not only her appearance but also her values, communication skills and leadership abilities. She said her passion for youth empowerment, environmental sustainability and community development played a major role in shaping her journey in the pageant. Her message resonated strongly with judges and supporters who recognised her vision and commitment to meaningful change.

Ndlovu described the competition as a demanding but rewarding experience that required courage, preparation and self-belief. She acknowledged that there were moments of pressure and doubt during the process, but she remained focused on her goals and trusted her abilities. According to her, winning the title confirmed that hard work and perseverance can open doors for young people regardless of their background. She also praised Miss Environment 2026 Whitney Mudzingwa, whom she called her best friend and strongest supporter throughout the competition. Their friendship became one of the highlights of the pageant experience and demonstrated the importance of encouragement and teamwork among contestants. Ndlovu said having a supportive circle around her helped her remain confident and motivated during every stage of the competition.

Coming from a farming family, Ndlovu believes her upbringing played a major role in shaping her character and outlook on life. She explained that growing up in an environment built on hard work taught her discipline, persistence and responsibility from an early age. Those values became the foundation that guided her academic, personal and leadership journey. She said her success should encourage young people from all backgrounds to believe that they are capable of achieving great things through determination and consistency. Her story reflects the experiences of many young Zimbabweans who continue striving for opportunities despite social and economic challenges. By sharing her journey openly, she hopes to motivate others to remain focused on their ambitions and personal growth.

As Miss Nust 2026, Ndlovu plans to use her platform to amplify causes that are close to her heart. She has already expressed strong interest in promoting climate-smart agriculture, environmental sustainability, youth empowerment and community wellness. She believes young leaders have a responsibility to use their influence to create positive change within society. Through her reign, she hopes to build networks and partnerships that will allow her to support impactful community projects and awareness campaigns. She also wants to inspire young people to confidently pursue their dreams while using their talents to contribute positively to society. Her vision reflects a growing trend among beauty queens who are using pageantry as a platform for advocacy and leadership rather than focusing solely on entertainment and fashion.

The Mr and Miss Nust 2026 pageant was organised under the leadership of Nust SRC president Russell Mashinya and attracted widespread attention from students and invited guests. The event was presided over by Ambassador Apphia Musavengana and celebrated excellence, leadership and talent among young people at the university. Ndlovu was crowned alongside Mr Nust 2026 Anesu Jordan Moyo, with both winners receiving significant prizes for their achievements. Each walked away with US$5,000 and Toyota Aqua vehicles sponsored by Sakunda Holdings and businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei. In addition, Miss Nust received an extra US$10,000 pledged by Miss Universe Zimbabwe board chairperson Madame Danya Kabwebwe. These rewards highlighted the growing recognition and support for youth talent development in Zimbabwe.

Ndlovu’s victory marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities, responsibilities and public expectations. Her focus on leadership, sustainability and empowerment positions her as more than just a pageant winner. She represents a new generation of young women who are using their voices and platforms to advocate for progress and social transformation. Her journey from Mahatshula to the Miss Nust crown demonstrates how determination and self-belief can open doors to greater possibilities. As she begins her reign, many people will be watching to see how she transforms her vision into meaningful action that benefits communities and inspires other young Zimbabweans.
