Opportunity For Zimbabwean Youth:Finance Intern: Trocaire

Trócaire is a Development Agency of the Irish Catholic Church established in 1973. The Agency works in Zimbabwe under a MoU with the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference (ZCBC). A vacancy for Finance Intern has arisen within its Zimbabwe Office. The successful candidate will be managed by the Finance Officer (FO) and will work in close collaboration with the rest of Country Team.

Key responsibilities:

Partner Governance and Financial Management
Assist with reviewing partner financial reports alongside programme team members and ensure that Trócaire and donor requirements are being met

Financial Control and Reporting

Assist in posting field office finance transactions in Agresso Business World ensuring accurate and timely posting of transactions with particular attention to the funding source Assists in the preparation of the monthly management reports and other reports as may be required

Internal Systems and Processes

Assists in improvement of work processes and increase efficiency within the scope of responsibility. Recording of correcting general ledger journals on Agresso Business World. Prepare monthly fuel and cash reconciliations as assigned

Procurement

Participate in procurement processes as assigned. Assist FO and Administrator in following up on receipts and invoices Ensuring WHT is deducted from non-compliant suppliers and preparing relevant tax clearance certificates

Operational

Assist in maintaining and updates the fixed asset register Assist FO in ensuring that statutory obligations – NSSA, ZIMRA and any other payments are done on time and returns filed. Routine administrative tasks such as filing Any other duties as assigned by the Country Team

The ideal candidate will have:

Recent graduate with an Accounting Degree Intermediate/Final stages of a postgraduate qualification – preferably ACCA or CIMA Intermediate; Expertise in Word and Excel; Exposure to ERPs preferably Agresso, SAP and Pastel would be an added advantage; Commitment to Trócaire Values; Excellent communication skills and a team player.
