A formation the Warriors could use to destroy Guinea

Sunday will be a day local fans are looking forward to with enthusiasm largely due to the squad Kalisto Pasuwa has been able to assemble this time around. Fans will also look forward to Sunday’s battle with much anticipation given the positive start by the warriors who overcame Malawi in their opening group L assignment away in Blantyre.

Having painted a picture of expectation, arguments regarding which team will start against Guinea may have already become a topical issue among football followers.

Against Guinea Pasuwa went for in form keeper Tatenda Mukuruva who is however not available for Sunday’s encounter after he was registered to represent the young Warriors at the African Games in Congo Brazzaville. Owing to Mukuruva’s absence Pasuwa is likely to go for tried and tested keeper Washington Arubi who recently extended his contract at the University of Pretoria.

Mana as Pasuwa is affectionately known in football circles is also likely to start with in form Sparta Prague defender Costa Nhamoinesu at left back. Against Malawi Pasuwa started with Blessing Moyo at right back but with the composed Dynamos prospect in Congo Brazzaville with the young warriors Pasuwa could opt for Caps United player Hardlife Zvirekwi.

At centre back Pasuwa could opt for Patson Jaure and Erick Chipeta although Justice Jangano who started away in Malawi is another option.

An obvious choice to start in the defensive midfield position would be Willard Katsande who has commanded a regular position at Kaizer Chiefs.

Pasuwa’s headache could be in terms of attack where the Warriors gaffer is spoilt for choice. Judging form Pasuwa’s approach of going for in form players Mana is likely to start with Matthew Rusike who should play behind Nyasha Mushekwi and Cuthbert Malajila. Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat who have shown good form at their respective bases in South Africa and Belgium are likely to start in attacking midfield positions where the duo should look to exploit spaces in wide areas while also making diagonal runs inside the box.

Should Nyasha Mushekwi and Cuthbert Malajila not hit top form, Billiat and Musona will play key roles in making darting runs that could present them with goal; scoring opportunities.
