Billiat weighs in with two assists as Arrows hold Chiefs

Zimbabwe national soccer team player Khama Billiat maybe facing criticism for a goal drought but the Warriors player is doing all he can in terms of setting up his teammates. Yesterday Billiat provided two assists as Kaizer Chiefs drew 2 all with Knox Mutizwa’s Golden Arrows.

For the first goal Khama supplied the corner which was headed home by Leonardo Castro in the 58th minute. After 65 minutes Billiat would then beat golden Arrows offside trap before setting up Leonardo Castro who tapped into an empty net. Chiefs however conceded an equaliser in which Zimbabwean international Knox Mutizwa was involved in, with a backheel setting up Abafana Besthende who fired home to bring the game level at 2-2.

Billiat has come under criticism for a lack of goals but the Zimbabwean international has been slowly doing the business in as far as providing assists for his teammates. Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has thrown his full weight behind Billiat, expressing confidence the Warriors player will come right in his finishing.

Khama Billiat was part of Zimbabwe’s back to back fixtures against Algeria recently. In Zimbabwe’s 3-1 loss to the Desert Foxes Khama was in the starting 11 before being relegated to the bench in the reverse fixture. Khama however helped Zimbabwe bounce back from 2 nil down to salvage a point in what ended as a 2 all draw.
