Charles Lovemore Mungoshi is a Zimbabwean award-winning novelist and an actor who achieved his success through writing . He rose to fame after starring in the film Neria, The novelist suffered from stroke which nearly paralysed him but because of his great work, his legacy lives on.

1. Charles Mungoshi was born on 2 December 1947
2. The novelist attended All Saints Mission and then Daramombe where he skipped Standard 2 .
3. He stated that he began to develop an uncontrollable thirst of writing short stories and poems whilst he was still in primary school.
4.Mungoshi argued that his first poem was inspired by Siphiwe, a girl who sat next to him in class when they were in primary school.
5. He began to write poems and short stories and one of his short stories, The Love Story was published in the school magazine when he was in high school.
6. After completing his studies, he joined the Forestry Commission.
7. In 1970, Mungoshi published his first novel, Makunun’unu Maodzamoyo.
8. When his first novel was published e, he was employed at the Textbook Sales
9. He joined the Literature Bureau up until 1981 as an editor.
10. From 1982 to 1985, he was a writer in residence at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ), From being at there he went to the University of Durban where he was also a writer in residence.
