FC Platinum humbles Makepekepe

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza expressed his delight over his team’s performance against Caps United which saw his charges returning to winning ways in style on Saturday.
The platinum miners scored three past their woeful opponents to register their first win over the Green Machine at Zvishavane’s Mandava Stadium.
Walter Musona, Hagiazo Magaya and rookie forward Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya got the goals for Kugona Kunenge Kudada before the half time break killing off the game as a one-sided affair rather than a contest.
“The boys played well especially in the first stanza but in the second half we were lacking a bit I was not pleased at all. Our endurance is still a point of concern and we need to work on it going forward. It’s good we managed to dust ourselves from last week’s loss and grind a positive result. Generally, I am happy with the win because it is the first time we have managed to beat Caps United at our home ground,” said Mapeza.
On the other end, Makepekepe coach Lloyd Chitembwe admitted defeat but pointed the need to work on his team’s concentration going forward.
“It wasn’t a good day for us in office. The guys lacked concentration and that contributed to our loss. We will now go back to the drawing board and work on improving the grey areas we have noted from this game,” he said.
Following Saturday’s victory FC Platinum jumped to position 5 on the standings with 6 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses after matchday 13.
