FC Platinum’s opportunity to add depth
Premier soccer league champions FC Platinum have been handed with the opportunity to add depth to their squad after the Confederation of African Football on Tuesday announced that squad’s can now register 40 players for Caf competitions.
Previously clubs could only register a maximum of 30 players but Caf has increased that number to 40 probably owing to the covid-19 pandemic situation.
After losing the services of Silas Songani and Last Jesi to Sudanese giants Al Hilal, FC Platinum are in dire need of more personnel and the addition of 10 players is an opportunity for the Zvishavane based outfit to beef up their squad. A few could be pushed through from the developmental side while the club could also go onto the market to acquire players that could help add depth to their team.
FC Platinum get their African Safari campaign underway with a trip to Mozambique where they have been paired with Costa Do Sol in a preliminary round showdown. The first leg set for Mozambique will be played on the weekend of 27-29 November while the return leg is set for 4-6 December.
Owing to limitations in Caf approved stadia FC Platinum will host Costa do Sol at the National Sports Stadium.
