Gamecocks take aim at Bulawayo Chiefs
Fresh from their comprehensive 2-0 win over log leaders Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium last week, Chicken Inn are oozing with confidence that they will once again grab the bragging rights when they square off with Bulawayo chiefs in yet another Bulawayo derby on Saturday.
With their favourite fortress Luveve Stadium being the venue in that Castle Lager Premier Soccer League duel, the Gamecocks are positive they will keep their winning momentum.
The 2015 Zimbabwe champions currently sit on position 5 on the log standings and a win on Saturday will propel them further up the ladder to position 4, should all things remain constant.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Prince Matore coached charges will be able to register back-to-back wins as they have been blowing hot and cold since the onset of the campaign.
In their last five outings Chicken Inn have managed three wins, one loss and one draw and it will be a confidence booster going forward should they silence the noisy Twitter banters Bulawayo Chiefs who have been struggling lately.
With the bragging rights at stake, the match promises some fireworks vis-à-vis Amakhosi Amahle coming on the back of a stalemate and have not yet tasted victory since July 16 when they beat Triangle 3-0 away at Gibbo Stadium.
In the reverse fixture at the same arena way back in April, the two teams shared the spoils in a match which ended 2-all, therefore it remains to be seen who will walk away with the bragging rights.
