Gwanda Pirates Appeal for Sponsorship Following Promotion to Division One

Newly promoted ZIFA Central Region Division One side Gwanda Pirates are seeking sponsorship to sustain their operations following their promotion from Division Two last year.
In Division Two, the club managed to stay afloat through financial contributions from individuals, including some executive committee members and members of the Gwanda community.
“Last year, when we were in Division Two, we used to meet every Friday at a specific location, each contributing US$20 to sustain the team,” revealed a club source.
However, with the increased financial demands of Division One football, the club is now in urgent need of additional funding.
Despite public perception that the club is financially stable, insiders insist that this is not the case.
“People believe Gwanda Pirates is well-funded, but that’s not the case. We are actually looking for a sponsor,” added the source.
Meanwhile, the club has reinforced its technical team by appointing former Highlanders star Johannes ‘Tshisa’ Ngodzo as the new head coach, a move aimed at strengthening their performance in the higher league.
As the team embarks on its Division One journey, securing sponsorship remains a top priority to ensure sustainability and competitiveness in the league.
