Warriors international forward Tinotenda Kadewere has carved his own piece of history by becoming the first Zimbabwean to ply his the Spanish La Liga.
Kadewere joined Real Mallorca on a season-long loan with an option to buy from French Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyonnais where he spent two and half years at the club.
The move to the Spanish La Liga is expected to help Kadewere regain the form he had when he arrived at the Les Gones from Ligue 2 side Le Havre in January 2020.
During the previous season, the Warriors striker made only 15 appearances for Lyon scoring only once with part of his campaign affected by injuries.
Soon after landing at the Palma based side, Kadewere said he is looking forward to a fruitful stay at the club.
“I am happy to be here and I look forward to give my best shot at the club. I am keen to be at the top once again, score more goals and help the club achieve its set targets,” he said.
Kadewere started his senior career in the Zimbabwean topflight at Harare City in 2015 before moving to Swedish first division club Djurgårdens IF in the summer of that same year.
The Zimbabwean would then work his way up and attracted interest from Le Havre who signed him in 2018 before Lyon snapped him up two years later.
Meanwhile, Kadewere has since trained with his new teammates in Palma for the first time this Tuesday afternoon.
