Kwashi confident ahead of Harare derby
Caps United assistant coach Fungai Tostao Kwashi says he is confident his troops will shoot down DeMbare on Sunday and grab the bragging rights in the highly anticipated Harare derby at the National Sports Stadium (NSS).
Despite the Green Machine’s poor run of form in the recent past where the team hardly remembers how to win, the former Makepekepe attacker believes the magnitude of the game itself is a great motivating factor in their quest to silence DeMbare and mark their return to winning ways in style.
“We want to make it a good return to the capital. Derbies are not about which team will be in form but it’s about who wants more on the day. The team which works extra hard on the day, the team which puts more than a 100% and shows more hunger will carry the game on the day. The whole city is buzzing and it’s going to be a great game. We are expecting a good game from both sides but obvious the Green Machine is going to win, we are confident about that,” remarked Kwashi in his pre-match rituals on Thursday.
The Harare derby, which is one of the biggest matches on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League calendar, will mark the return of football in the the capital since June when the facility (NSS) was closed for renovations.
In their reverse fixture earlier this year at the same arena, the Glamour Boys came out 2-0 victors and Caps United will be eager to avenge for that loss, giving the match that oomph of becoming a blockbuster bout.
