Makuva shines as Madamburo humbles Tenax

By Geronimo News

Ngezi Platinum Stars reigned supreme over newboys Tenax FC and registered an emphatic 4-0 win in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at the Baobab Stadium on Saturday.

Enterprising winger Wayne Makuva was the star of the day as he grabbed a brace in clinical fashion to steer Madamburo to victory in front of their home crowd on a day Tinotenda Musariranwa and second half substitute Delic Murimba added a goal apiece to ensure the hosts collect all the maximum points.

Ngezi Platinum Stars showed their intent to win from the onset as they exhibited a masterclass of attacking football with their efforts paying off as early as the third minute when Makuva fired home from inside the area.

Moments later Musariranwa, a graduate from the Madamburo developmental side which completes in the country’s second-tier football league, added the second for his side as the game went to the breather with the scoreline reading 2-0.

After the restart the hosts continued to dominate play keeping Tenax at bay forcing Panashe Chirimanyemba in goals for the prison wardeners to make several saves as he tried to keep his boys into the game.

Makuva would then find the back of the net straight from a corner kick in the 49th minute before Murimba made it four for Madamburo moments just after his introduction.

Ngezi Platinum Stars then took full control of the match as the game ended 4-0 in their favour on a day Benjani Mwaruwari registered his first home win while in charge of Madamburo.
