Nakamba set to stay put at Aston Villa
Today is transfer deadline day and in the build up to the close of the transfer window there had been talk of a possible move for Marvelous Nakamba with Crystal Palace and Newcastle both reported to have shown interest in the player.
A move away from Villa Park is however highly unlikely as the clock ticks towards the close of the window. Nakamba has had limited game time this season largely due to the consistency exhibited by Brazilian Douglas Luiz as well as John McGinn.
Dean Smith has not hidden his desire to keep the Zimbabwean midfielder as cover although lack of game time could leave Nakamba somewhat agitated. While opportunities of playing have been few and far between Nakamba will take encouragement from a recent outing which saw him exhibiting a measure of dominance in an EPL encounter against Newcastle.
With Dean Smith clear about his desire to keep Nakamba the decision will largely rest on the shoulders of Nakamba who will. most likely want to stick around and fight for a place in a side that is enjoying a fair measure of success this season.
