Ngezi U19, CUMA share spoils
The Ngezi Platinum Stars U19 side were held to a 1-1 draw at home to CUMA Academy on Friday to move to 31 points after 22 rounds of matches.
The stalemate was Madamburo’s 7th in the Ruyamuro Northern Region Soccer League Division One in a season they have also managed 8 wins and 7 losses as well.
The result against the Kadoma outfit at the Baobab Stadium left the Mhondoro-Ngezi-based outfit on position 8 on the 17-team log table.
In a match were both teams sized each other, Ngezi almost drew first blood in the first half when striker Elson Mweha was denied by the crossbar.
After that moment that was nothing much to talk about as there were no clear-cut chances created.
In the second stanza, CUMA Academy came back more determined to win and their efforts were rewards later on when goalkeeper Godknows Gurure turned a freekick specialist to give his side the lead.
Sensing defeat in the air, the Ngezi U19 quickly switched onto the game and Tinashe Mabvudzi would equalise for the home side.
The visitors then tried to get back on top but their efforts went in vein as Ngezi remained resolute at the back with the match ending in a 1-1 stalemate.
