Ngezi U19 end Trojan Stars unbeaten home record

By Geronimo News

Elson Mweha’s strike midway through the second half was all that the Ngezi Platinum Stars development side needed to secure maximum points away to Trojan Stars in a Ruyamuro Northern Region Soccer League Division One duel on Saturday.

In what was a closely contested encounter at Trojan Mine Stadium, the hosts, even up to this day, are failing to understand what transpired and are reeling in agony as they suffered their first defeat of the season in their own territory.

Kifton Kadulira’s side were on the front foot from the onset with winger John Bonomali giving the Trojan Stars defenders a torrid time each time he got hold of the ball.

That his frame reflects that of a bushmen or that of a people from the Koi Koi tribe did not matter as the left footed attacker enjoyed a time of his life in Bindura.

Although his name was not on the score sheet Bonomali hogged the limelight that even the Trojan Stars fans could not ignore his exploits but just to applaud the player’s prowess.

Coming on the back of a 1-1 draw against CUMA Academy at the Baobab last week the Ngezi Platinum Stars U19 side desperately needed a win to boost their confidence after going for a long time without tasting victory.

Perhaps the share of the spoils with CUMA Academy was all that the Mhondoro-Ngezi club needed to reignite their winning formula.

After Saturday’s sweet victory the Ngezi U19 side are now on 8th position on 34 points.
