Nhamoinesu returns to Poland

Former Warriors defender Costa Nhamoinesu has joined Polish second-tier club TS Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała (TSP) on a one-year contract.

The move marks Nhamoinesu’s return to Europe after spending a year in Asia where he turned out for Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League.

TSP confirmed the development on Twitter saying: “Earth globe Europe-Africa from Zimbabwe, through the Vistula, Lubin and Praga to Bielsko-Biała. From ghetto boyfriend to seasoned flexed biceps fighter Costa Nhamoinesu, welcome to TSP!”

The 35-year-old Zimbabwean is not new to Poland after spending more than a decade since making a move to Polish lower-league club KS Wisla Ustronianka on a half-year loan from Masvingo united in 2008 to begin his career in Europe.

He later switched to Zaglebie Lubin on a two-year loan before signing permanently for the club in 2010.

Nhamoinesu then join Sparta Prague in 2013, spent seven years at the team and was the first African player to captain the Czech side.

In October 2010, the former Warriors defender joined Indian super league side Kerala Blasters on a 1-year deal becoming the first Zimbabwean player to represent the club before he was appointed as one of the team captain’s ahead of the 2020/21 season.
