PSL reverts back to $3 per game

The custodians of the flagship competition the Premier Soccer League have given in to pressure from the football stakeholders by reducing gate charges for Chibuku Super Cup matches slated for this weekend.

The PSL were last week charging $20 for topflight league matches and this price tag did not go down well with the fans who took to social media in criticism of the exorbitant charges.

Seeing that the numbers which attended matches last week were not pleasing and with the PSL at risk of running losses there has been a revision of entry-charges which will now be pegged at $3 per game. Upper grand stands will be $5 with VIP tickets being $10.

The PSL says it has seen it fit to review the gate charges for all topflight league matches effective from the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals to be played this weekend.

“While the PSL notes that clubs suffered huge financial losses during the COVID-19 pandemicand continued to incur a lot of costs inpreparation for matches, we also understand the need to make our mathces appealing and affordable to football fans who are the heartbeat of the game,” read a statement from the PSL.

Meanwhile, Premier Soccer League action resumes this weekend as Craneborne Bullets take on Ngezi Platinum Stars in the first semi-final of the Chibuku Super Cup at the National Sports Stadium before Dynamos lock horns with FC Platinum at the same venue on Sunday.
