Teenage Hadebe returns from injury

Zimbabwe international defender Teenage Hadebe returned to action for the first time in five months when his Houston Dynamo hosted Vancouver Whitecaps in a Major League Soccer duel at the Shell Energy Stadium this Thursday.

Houston Dynamo gave Hadebe a warm welcome as they registered a emphatic 4-1 win to climb up the ladder to position 4 on the League Western Conference log table on 43 points from 29 matches.

The Warriors defensive pillar suffered a leg injury in April which saw him being side-lined as it needed surgery.

And upon his return to the first team fold, the Orange Crush coach Ben Olsen instilled some faith and trust in the defender and handed him a starting berth, before eventually playing the entire 90 minutes.

Although he was an unused substitute in his side’s clash against St Louis last week, probably because his coach felt it was not yet time, Hadebe has finally returned to the first team.

And that gesture by Olsen (handing Hadebe a starting berth) is a clear sign that the Zimbabwe international plays a pivotal role in the Houston Dynamo defensive department and has since asserted himself as one of the best defenders at the club.

In his road to the US topflight league action Hadebe had been flexing his muscles and making necessary adjustments at the club’s reserve side earlier this month.
