Triangle goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu dies
The Zimbabwean football fraternity has been plunged into mourning following the death of Triangle United goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu on Sunday.
He was 33.
Barely 24 hours after his side edged Dynamos 1-0 in a league match at Gibbo Stadium in the lowveld, the goalkeeper could not breath no more.
The Triangle vice-captain passed on at a local hospital in Triangle where he was admitted after suffering a stroke last month.
Mudimu once turned out for Harare outfit Caps United, Motor Action and Black Mambas before moving to Triangle.
He also featured for the Under -17 and Under -20 Zimbabwe national teams.
Meanwhile, the Premier Soccer League expressed shock and disbelief over the passing on such a great player.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Mudimu and Triangle United FC family following the untimely passing on of seasoned player Ronald Mudimu. We pray for comfort and strength during this difficult time,” read the statement from PSL.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
