Warriors suffer big blow as injury rules out Munetsi
Warriors midfielder Marshal Munetsi will not be travelling for crucial back to back Afcon encounters after his club indicated the holding midfielder sustained an injury while in action for Stade Reims.
Munetsi was involved in Stade Reims 4-4 draw with Lens yesterday and was expected to fly to Harare thereafter. When contacted for comment by Zim Soccernet, Warriors team manager Wellington Mpandare said Munetsi will no longer be coming after his club indicated the midfielder sustained an injury.
He was expected to be a key player for the Warriors given his recent form which saw him earning a place in the ligue 1 team of the week on matchday 9. The anchorman was expected to partner marvelous Nakamba in midfield but warriors gaffer Zdravko Logarusic will have to search for other options.
The Zimbabwean team trained on Monday with 13 players now in camp. Among those that have reported for duty are Knowledge Musona, victor Kamhuka, Prince Dube, Jordan Zemura and Adam Chicksen. Kudakwashe Mahachi, Tafadzwa Rusike and Jimmy Dzingai are expected to arrive this evening.
