Will the Mighty Warriors be able to turn around the fortunes?

The Zimbabwe senior women’s national football team, the Mighty Warriors is faced with a mammoth task in their road to Morocco as they seek to overturn a 1-3 deficit against Botswana for them to make it to the 12th edition of the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) finals.
The Mighty Warriors complicated matters for themselves by allowing the Mares to score three past them in the first leg of the final qualifying round at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Friday.
The Sithethelelwe Sibanda coached outfit now needs to score three or more goals and avoid conceding at all costs in the second leg slated for Wednesday at the Francistown Stadium.
The Mighty Warriors technical team has, however, dropped six more players ahead of the AWCON 2022 qualifier reverse fixture.
Goalkeeper Lindiwe Magwede, defenders Liliosa Kandemiri and Purity Mugayi, midfielders Shyline Dambamuromo and Ennerty Chemhere and striker Natasha Ndowa are the players that have been left out of the squad.
Technically, Zimbabwe are out of the tournament with only a miracle needed to save the team from being knocked out of the Morocco extravaganza which runs from the 2nd to the 23rd of July this year.
Meanwhile, the 18-member Mighty Warriors squad left Harare for Francistown this Monday afternoon and are expected to have their first training session in Botswana this Tuesday morning.
The aggregate winner in the fixture will qualify for this year’s edition of the prestigious Africa Women Cup of Nations finals in Morocco.
