Willard Katsande Named Zim Captain For The AFCON Qualifier Against Malawi
Zimbabwe National Team and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Willard Katsande has been chosen to captain the Zimbabwe team in the upcoming AFCON qualifier against Malawi on Saturday.
The first time National team captain joins a longer list of foreign players than the locals who are back to represent Zimbabwe at AFCON. The other foreign players are Khama Billiat, Kuda Mahachi, Cuthbert Malajika, Knowledge Musona, Eric Chipeta and Marvellous Nakamba.
Zimbabwe’s group in the AFCON qualifiers includes Malawi, Swaziland and Guinea, only one team will qualify. The AFCON will be held in Gabon in 2017.
Zimbabwe last qualified for the AFCON in 2006.
