Zemura makes EPL debut

Zimbabwe international wing back Jordan Zemura finally lived his dream at the weekend when he made his English Premier League (EPL) debut for Bournemouth in their season opener against Aston Villa on Saturday.
Zemura’s side won 2-0 to spice up the day for the promising defender who played the whole 90 minutes on the big stage.
And on his maiden appearance in the EPL, the youngster did not disappoint as he maintained positional discipline playing more defensively as he contained pressure from his wing.
The Warriors wing bak became the fourth fully capped Warriors international after former Birmingham City star and former Zimbabwe captain Peter Ndlovu, ex-Manchester City forward Benjani Mwaruwari, former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar and Aston Villa’s Marvelous Nakamba to play in the EPL.
Zemura has been one of the shining beacons for Bournemouth in the English Championship last season and inspired his side to promotion into the country’s top tier football league for the 2022/23 campaign.
It is thus hoped, the 22-year-old exciting left-back will pick up from where he left from in the lower division and help the Cherries stay afloat in the big league.
The Zimbabwe international joined Bournemouth in the summer of 2019 and went onto assert his name in the Cherries Academy before breaking into the first team last season where he made 34 appearances for the club in the English Championship.
Meanwhile, fellow countryman and Warriors teammate Marvelous Nakamba was not in action for Aston Villa as he is nursing an injury.
