The tournament provides young players with international exposure and the opportunity to showcase their skills on a global stage.

During the trophy handover ceremony, team captains from participating nations joined ICC and Zimbabwe Cricket officials. Zimbabwe’s captain Simbarashe Mudzengerere, New Zealand’s Tom Jones, and England skipper Farhan Ahmed were among the representatives presenting the trophy to the Acting President.

Acting President Chiwenga urged the Zimbabwean squad, known as the Chevrons, to channel their talent and dedication throughout the tournament. “We expect nothing less than your best, and we believe you have the potential to keep this trophy here at home,” he said.

The tournament is expected to attract talented teams from around the world, highlighting the next generation of cricketing stars. Fans can look forward to a high-quality competition that combines emerging talent, international experience, and a celebration of the sport in Southern Africa.
