Zimbabwe to Host Benin in World Cup Qualifier at Moses Mabhida Stadium

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has confirmed that the Warriors will host Benin in a crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa, on March 20, 2025.
In a statement released on Monday, ZIFA expressed excitement over securing the world-class venue for the match, which will kick off at 6 PM. Gate charges have been pegged at R50, and fans are urged to turn up in large numbers to support the team.
Originally, ZIFA had intended to host the fixture in Polokwane, but the venue was allocated to South Africa’s Bafana Bafana. With Johannesburg’s stadiums occupied by rugby and other events, and Cape Town Stadium undergoing pitch renovations, Moses Mabhida Stadium emerged as the best alternative.
Zimbabwe’s inability to host international matches at home remains a challenge, as the National Sports Stadium in Harare is currently banned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) due to failing to meet required standards.
Despite this, ZIFA remains optimistic, highlighting that Durban’s strong Zimbabwean community will provide passionate support for the Warriors. The association urged fans to fill the stadium, don the national colors, and rally behind the team as they continue their World Cup qualification journey.
