Zimbabweans are all over the world. Once a Zimbabwean makes it into a system, they seem to thrive. In 2018, we saw a number of Zimbabwean celebrities do well on the international scene.

Taponeswa continues to represent in the UK. She was named one of the most influential women in music.

Danai Gurira

Holding her crown is non other than Danai Gurira. The Zamerican actress and playwright won hearts with her role as Okoye in Black Panther. She was later named Best Superhero at the People’s Choice Awards. Danai made the covers of Women’s Health and Jet magazine.

Leroy Gopal

Leroy Gopal handed a role in a Mzansi Magic drama, Abomama. He also won Best Villain.

Lonely Mangena

The 17 year old won hearts during auditions on The Voice UK. He has a successful single ‘Bang Like a Drum’. He has also performed
