Sunshine City Festival Gears Up for an Electrifying 2025 Edition

As the entertainment scene kicks into gear for 2025, Zimbabwe’s festival calendar is set to heat up with the much-anticipated Sunshine City Festival. Scheduled for May 24-25 at Alex Sports Club in Harare, this event promises to be a game-changer, offering a spectacular celebration of music, culture, and community.

Star-Studded Line-Up

Organised by Tamba Events under Braai Out, the festival has already confirmed an exciting roster of performers. Headlining the event is South African kwaito star Toss (Pholoso Masombuka), renowned for his electrifying performances and signature Pantsula dance moves. Joining him on stage will be DJ Prince Kaybee and DJ Maphorisa, both of whom have carved out impressive careers in the South African music industry.

The festival is also set to showcase some of Zimbabwe’s finest talents, including contemporary singer Feli Nandi, rising sensation Oriyano, and hip-hop artiste SaintFloew. These artists will bring a unique blend of local sounds, ensuring an unforgettable experience for music lovers.

A Celebration of African Culture

In honor of Africa Day, attendees are encouraged to incorporate elements of traditional African attire into their festival outfits. This cultural theme aims to celebrate and showcase the rich heritage of African artistry and fashion.

Improved Festival Experience

Event organiser and director Nigel Chinovhiringa has assured fans that this year’s festival will be bigger and better. With just two months to go, preparations are in full swing.

“We are focusing on fewer performers this year to provide more stage time for musicians and better value for money,” said Chinovhiringa.

He further revealed that the festival will span two days to provide a more diverse entertainment experience. “After last year’s edition, we have learned from our mistakes and have structured the event to align with audience expectations,” he added.

Beyond Music: Engaging Activities

Sunshine City Festival isn’t just about the music; it’s an all-encompassing experience. A series of engaging activities have been lined up, including a marathon with 5km, 10km, and 21km race categories, for which registration is already open.

Adding a competitive edge to the festival, a soccer tournament dubbed “Sunshine City Wafa-Wafa” will see participation from various clubs and institutions, further enhancing the festival’s community engagement.

For younger audiences and fans of contemporary music, there will be a dedicated stage featuring Amapiano and hip-hop, ensuring diverse entertainment options for all festival-goers.

Corporate Support and Ticket Sales

The festival has already garnered interest from corporate sponsors, with more opportunities still available for partnerships. Ticket sales have commenced, and anticipation is running high as revellers gear up for what promises to be a memorable event.

Promotional efforts are in full swing, leveraging social media to keep fans updated and engaged. “We have released our posters online, and the response has been overwhelming,” said Chinovhiringa.

With a meticulous focus on logistics, venue setup, and stage management, Sunshine City Festival 2025 is set to be an immersive and well-organized affair. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early and prepare for an exhilarating weekend filled with music, fun, and cultural celebration.
