Kudzai Mushonga Opens Up About Broken Engagement Plans with Khanyi Mbau

Dubai-based Zimbabwean entrepreneur Kudzai Mushonga, also known as Ndege Boy, revealed his hopes of marrying South African television personality Khanyi Mbau, but admitted those plans have since fallen through.

Mushonga shared his thoughts on Instagram Stories while wishing Mbau a happy 40th birthday. He wrote that he had planned a surprise proposal, imagining them sailing together on a yacht in the Gulf. He explained that he had acted as if the yacht viewing was for a client to keep the plan secret.

“It was all for your surprise 40th. I thought today was the perfect day to get on that one knee with such a perfect setting on a big day, because I like big days and had been waiting for this one for a long time,” Mushonga said.

He suggested that his secretive approach in planning the elaborate surprise may have contributed to the breakup. “I was secretive about my phone, because it was all meant to be a surprise. Which involved a big team planning it and yes a lot of secret calls too,” he added.

Mushonga and Mbau have had a history of public breakups and reconciliations, making their relationship known for its on-and-off nature.

Earlier in September, rumors linked Mushonga to South African reality TV star Faith Nketsi. Mushonga did not comment on the claims, while Nketsi denied any relationship, stating she would “never ever date Kudzai.”

The revelation marks another chapter in the turbulent relationship between Mushonga and Mbau, highlighting the challenges of public romance and high-profile gestures.
