Yellow World Launches Inaugural Pumula’s Got Talent Show in Bulawayo to Celebrate Creativity and Community

Yellow World, a dynamic organisation dedicated to arts promotion and community development, is gearing up to host the first-ever Pumula’s Got Talent show on June 28 in Bulawayo. This landmark event coincides with Men’s Health Month, highlighting the organisation’s commitment to holistic community empowerment.
The Pumula’s Got Talent show is designed to bridge the gap between grassroots creatives and key stakeholders by providing a vibrant platform for emerging artists to showcase their talents. By fostering connections with industry players and community leaders, Yellow World aims to nurture the creative industry at its foundational level.
Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style, Mentor Dlamini, founder and executive director of Yellow World, emphasized the significance of the event for youth empowerment. “This event is a crucial step towards empowering our youth and providing them with the necessary support to succeed in the creative industry,” Dlamini explained.
The show will spotlight indigenous creative acts, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Bulawayo and Zimbabwe at large. “We are expecting the event to connect the community with its creatives and stakeholders, as we have come to realise that many grassroots-level creatives have limited support or resources to establish strong foundations,” Dlamini added.
To ensure the event’s success and provide valuable opportunities for the youth, government officials, community leaders, art practitioners, and corporate partners have been invited to participate. These stakeholders will engage directly with the participants, offering mentorship, networking opportunities, and resources.
In a unique community-oriented initiative, all event partners will set up gazebos to provide free services to attendees on the day of the show. Dlamini elaborated, “Bringing service providers to the community and featuring indigenous creative acts promotes the community and appreciates our culture as a country. We must support and encourage young talents to do better in our community.”
Registration for Pumula’s Got Talent is open to all creative artists from Bulawayo, providing an inclusive opportunity for individuals across disciplines to participate and gain exposure.
This inaugural event not only promises an exciting showcase of local talent but also marks a significant step forward in community development through the arts. As Yellow World champions cultural pride and youth empowerment, Pumula’s Got Talent is set to become a vital platform that uplifts creatives and strengthens Bulawayo’s vibrant artistic landscape.
