Career Aid Org Interview

How are you doing in 2015?

2015 has been a good year so far.

What is your purpose as your organization ?

This organization has a vision entrust of passing on information to young individuals with career possibilities in Personal Management.

Do you want volunteers?

Indeed, we are a volunteer running project. We would welcome volunteers.

Do you have a specific target market and location?

Currently we are offering service to Harare but we want to expand to the rest of Zimbabwe.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Funding is the biggest challenge. It’s almost like the fuel to a car.

Who is your inspiration?

We want to see ourselves grown to the level of Japan and China were the youths are growing up with a vision of personal development and developing their communities. If you look at how citizens in those countries are very innovative and look back at their countries and create something at very young ages they know what they want to do.

We are also inspired by people like Strive Masiyiwa.

Where do you see Career Aid Organisation in 5years?

We plan on reaching every corner of Zimbabwe, even in the marginalized and remote areas because we see that there is less information reaching those areas. So we want to make sure that people in those areas get information within their careers, life skills and mentorship that will help their personal development.

Do you think young people are involved in the future of this country?

Saying yes is as far fetched as saying no. We feel like they can do better and be more involved than they are now.

Are there careers that are more in line with your purpose than others?

All careers in every discipline, even personal development, money management, stress relief, behavior change etc.

What are your top 3 reasons to smile right now?

1. I think 1 is putting this organization into place because it has been very challenging.
2. If you look at the stats, there are about 1.2 Billion youths aged between 10 and 19 in the world right now, which is a record, so just being able to help them shape the future and help the young people feel what the future will be like is great.
3. Lastly to just show direction to these young people is our vision as an organization.

Any words of wisdom to the youth of Zimbabwe?

Youths shouldn’t die at 14 and get buried at 15. They should always have a reason to smile. Again you should research a lot because knowledge is power.
