You Won’t Believe What Inspired The Invention Of Google Images Search!
Way before the blue and black/gold and white dress almost broke the internet and way before Drake and Migos made Versace famous, it was a certain dress that inspired Google to create Google Images. So basically it’s safe to say in this case fashion inspired technology. The dress belongs to none other than“Jenny from the block”, Jennifer Lopez.
In 2000, you were probably in primary school or not yet born which is okay because we got you covered, J.Lo who was dating P.Diddy at the time attended the Grammy awards in a very revealing Versace dress that left very little to the imagination.
She was on every fashion magazine and everyone’s lips for the next few weeks but according to Google people didn’t seem to get enough of the dress. “People wanted more than just text, at the time, it was the most popular search query we had ever seen. But we had no sure-fire way of getting users what they wanted: J.Lo wearing that dress, Google Image Search was born.” Said Google’s executive chairman Eric Schmidt in a recent essay on Project Syndicate.
J.Law seemed stocked with the news and she posted a throwback of the “inspirational” dress captioning it with, “WHO KNEW!! #googleimages #onepersoncanchangetheworld #onedresscanchangetheworld #jloxversace=history #positivechange #funfacts LOL.”
Are we the only ones who think J.Lo deserves a cut from Google here? And we love that fashion is changing technology one dress at a time.
