Beyoncé- “We should spend more time loving ourselves”

“We should spend more time loving ourselves, which means taking better care of ourselves with good nutrition and making healthier food choices.” But the ‘Run the World’ hitmaker, who doesn’t like using the word vegan because she believes it has negative connotations, admits her personal chef cooks most of her meals.

Beyonce was spotted leaving her NYC office building on Thursday evening. She wore a double denim outfit, with long straight locks. She looked flawless as she walked out with a big smile on her face. Her denim shirt had a large cut out which flaunted her toned tummy. The ‘Pretty Hurts’ singer, who first participated in a vegan challenge with husband Jay Z in December 2013 in a bid to adopt “a healthy lifestyle,” credits a plant-based diet for her trim figure and thinks more people should embrace the lifestyle.

The 33-year-old star said: “At first it’s the little things I noticed: I had more energy. A noticeable glow to my skin without having to deprive myself of carbs. I even slept better.

“The benefits of a plant-based diet need to be known.

She told the New York Times: “I don’t really cook, but I’m a really good taste tester.” The ‘Drunk in Love’ hitmaker, who launched her own own food delivery service with fitness guru Marco Borges in the US earlier this year, and Jay Z decided to eat organic, plant-based, gluten-free, soy-free and dairy-free meals for 22 days shortly before his birthday in late 2013.

The 45-year-old rapper explained the reason for their experiment on his blog at the time, writing: “Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you’ve found the way.

“This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a ‘plant-based breakfast’ everyday. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought.

“It just feels right! So you can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse.”
