Zimbabwean Footballer Dies On Pitch

Sad weekend and a great loss to all Zimbabwean football fans. Former midfielder for Highlanders, Masvingo United and Njube Sundowns Maphias Webb died after collapsing on a soccer pitch yesterday in Bulawayo.

Webb was now assistant coach for Southern Region soccer league side Bulawayo city. The Head coach at Bulawayo City expressed his sadness saying Webb was a dedicated member of the team who had a lot to give to football.

Many of his colleagues have described him as someone who encouraged young players to take football seriously and always engaged with them. He had a true passion for football. May he rest in peace.
